You are required to make an appointment for ALL services before completing step 2. Applications completed without an appointment will not be accepted for processing. Appointments can only be made for the county where your residence is located. You can make an appointment through the Online Appointment Scheduler or call 904-362-8052. The appointment line is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. Appointments can be scheduled up to 14 calendar days in advance. A live operator will be available for customers who require assistance between the hours of 10 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Language accommodations will also be available. A NFCAA representative will contact each individual on the designated appointment day and time to conduct the intake process over the phone. This process addresses the following:
Assist individuals that are unable to fill out the online application
Setup a day and time for individuals to drop off/scan required documents in the designated office
Provide any additional assistance to the individuals

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance program is called LIHEAP. They assist low income people and families with their heating and cooling bills. This program is therefore, a year long program that is available 12 months a year.
To qualify for the LIHEAP assistance, you need to qualify. We provide the current Federal Poverty Rates nationwide below.
You are automatically qualified for LIHEAP assistance if you participate in the SNAP food stamps program, TANF Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or the SSI program through Social Security.

These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get legal aid from some offices, they use a sliding fee scale. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
