Quad LiHEAP - Energy Assistance
Quad Area’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally funded program that helps low income households with their home energy bills in the following Parishes: Ascension, East Feliciana, Livingston, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, Washington and West Feliciana.
ENERGY ASSISTANCE:
The LIHEAP program may provide energy assistance once per season (HEATING/COOLING) and/or a crisis payment once every 12 months upon qualification as funds are available.
LIHEAP appointments are made by phone only, on a first come first serve basis when funding is available.
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance program is called LIHEAP. They assist low income people and families with their heating and cooling bills. This program is therefore, a year long program that is available 12 months a year.
To qualify for the LIHEAP assistance, you need to qualify. We provide the current Federal Poverty Rates nationwide below.
You are automatically qualified for LIHEAP assistance if you participate in the SNAP food stamps program, TANF Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or the SSI program through Social Security.

*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get legal aid from some offices, they use a sliding fee scale. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

I've tried to sign up for this program since September. I dialed the number starting at 8 am until it closes. If I didn't get a busy signal, the call would be answered with no communication. I sent a text message to ask why my call was not answered. The lady told me they was out of funds and to call back the next month. Called back in October with no contact. Called all morning today, November 4th and was told to call back on December 2nd. I really need to speak with someone in charge.
